Home and Overseas business development manager Martin Mills has left after 15 years with the company. No-one at the insurance company would comment on where he has gone. Industry sources claim members of the sales team have also left.
BOOST FOR BARBADOS
Virgin Atlantic is to add two more flights to Barbados for winter 1999, taking the number of weekly flights from the UK to five. From the same date, the airline will increase the number of Upper Class seats on all eight weekly Caribbean flights from 14 to 28 seats on each aircraft.
ADVANTAGE BATTLE
Six Advantage TravelCentres members are battling for two vacancies on the consortium’s board. Current board members Di Mansell of Wellington Travel and Roger Waterfall of Waterfall Travel are standing for re-election while John Spicer from Spicer Travel Bureau, Pat Murphy from Thornton’s Travel, James Myles of Pro Travel and Briony Horden of Tickets Anywhere are standing for the first time. The membership has until October 1 to vote.
COSMOS APPOINTMENT
Cosmos has appointed Gill Standeven as product manager. She joins from Sovereign and will review the Winter Sun and Golden Times programmes. The operator has also appointed Helen Chester from Stagecoach Holdings as marketing manager for Cosmosair.
