Guernsey delays after ‘aircraft left open’

Flights were suspended at Guernsey airport this morning after an aircraft was left open overnight.

Airport director Colin Le Ray told the BBC that security checks had to be carried out before it was safe to resume a normal service.

Police arrived at the airport but could not confirm any other information.

Early morning departures to Gatwick, Manchester, Southampton, Alderney, Jersey and Exeter were delayed.

Inbound flights until 10.25 were also affected and a service from Exeter was diverted to Jersey.
