Hoseasons has launched a dedicated travel agent Web site with an on-line, real-time availability and booking facility.
Agents can check 15,000 accommodation choices in self-catering parks, lodges, cottages and boats for availability. The operator claims to be the first UK operator to launch such a site. Other features include more information than provided on viewdata and an option to print quotes for each holiday. Bookings can be done on-line with print confirmation.
Requirements such as geographical area, type of accommodation and facilities, proximity to beach, on-site entertainment and babysitting can be specified on the search.
Agents access the site by entering their ABTA number and a security password. Hoseasons Information Technology and operations director Richard Overy said: “The site is a progression from viewdata. It is faster to use with more features and the ability to book short breaks.”
Anne Marie Amphlett of ESTTravel in Harrow, who has been testing the site, said: “Overall it was fast, efficient, colourful and easy to use.”
