Rosenbluth acquires on-line travel agency

ROSENBLUTH International has acquired Biztravel.com, the Internet business travel agency, for an undisclosed sum.

Under the terms of the deal Rosenbluth will set up a separate company, called Rosenbluth Interactive.

It will comprise two lines of business, Biztravel.com and a second Internet travel site which will be named at a later date. Biztravel.com will be expanded to include deals with suppliers which Rosenbluth already has a relationship with. This will allow users to gain access to the best prices for more than 6,000 airlines, hotel chains and car rental companies.

The second travel site will allow discounted fares to be booked by Rosenbluth’s customers, their families and some members of the general public for leisure travel.

Rosenbluth has added new technology to Biztravel.com which enables the customer who has made a booking to carry on checking an airline’s inventory and identify lower fare options as they become available up until the day of departure. This means that if a lower fare is made available after the booking has been made, Rosenbluth will refund the difference to the customer.

Rosenbluth president and chief executive officer Hal Rosenbluth will become chairman and chief executive officer at Biztravel.com while Rosenbluth vice-president of marketing Neal Bibeau will be president of the Internet service.

He said:”We want to be a breath of fresh air to the harried traveller by anticipating all of their needs and fulfilling them.”
