Sovereign calls in ASA over advert


LONDON-BASED Sovereign Travel and Leisure has complained to the Advertising Standards Authority over an advert describing agents as ‘gormless’.



The national newspaper advert for CompuServe’s travel service shows a customer having difficulty booking a holiday through a travel agent. The ASAis looking into the complaint by Sovereign managing director Frank Chapman that the advert is insulting. CompuServe refused to comment.
