New Clia chair urges industry to work together

The chair of Clia UK and Ireland has urged agents to get reacquainted with the cruise industry and to be passionate about the products they’re selling.

Speaking before agents at the Clia Selling Cruise Convention in Southampton, Jo Rzymowska (pictured), the first chair of the new cruise body and UK general manager of Royal Caribbean, encouraged agents to be knowledgable about new products in a year which has proved unpredictable and challenging for cruise.

She said: “Clia is all about talking as one global voice and having one global organisation.

“In my role as the first chair my vision is about connecting to work even more collectively together, to really support the gospel that there is a cruise out there for everyone, they just simply don’t know it yet.”

She added: “Your passion is powerful but working together is much much more powerful.”

Rzymowska said she wakes up thinking how she is going to get to those who haven’t cruised before. She told agents: “Selling a cruise isn’t like any other holiday, it takes more passion and more knowledge. Forget what they think they know and reacquaint themselves with cruise.

“A cruise is sold, it’s not bought.”
