New airline JetXtra.com has introduced weekly flights from Humberside airport to Alicante and Majorca.
The new flights will be on-board a 125-seat Boeing 717 and fly each Tuesday, returning the same day. The inaugural flights took place today.
Between now and September 24, the flights to Alicante will leave Humberside every Tuesday at 10.15, with returning flights from Alicante leaving at 14.30.
Flights to Majorca will leave Humberside airport each Tuesday at 16.25, with return flights scheduled for 08.20.
The line offers passengers free luggage allowance of 20kg, allocated seating and no card charges.
Fares start from £24.99 one way including taxes and charges.
JetXtra was launched in 2012 by 26-year-old Daniel Reilly, from Liverpool, who spotted a gap in the market after working in the industry for eight years. He then went on to secure backing from tour operator Worldchoice Sports.
He said: “I am a year younger than Richard Branson when he launched Virgin Atlantic, so I think I have a head start.
“It is an incredibly competitive market but we have had a great first year and we are now under pinning that success with the launch of the new flight services in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire that will offer more choice to those who want real value for money flights and holidays but with no hidden fees.
“We aspire to be different from the other guys and I think we are achieving that.”
