Tour operator Kuoni has announced chief executive Peter Rothwell is to leave by the end of this month.
The directors have appointed group chief financial officer Peter Meier as chief executive of the Kuoni Group with immediate effect on an interim basis.
A new group chief executive is expected to be appointed this year. Rothwell joined Kuoni at the beginning of 2009 and the firm said he led a successful transformation of the business.
In a statement Kuoni said: “The board of directors thanks Peter Rothwell for having led the Kuoni Group through this transformation, which has now been largely completed.
“Peter Meier will take over this position as of tomorrow in addition to his role as chief financial officer. The recruiting process for the new chief executive officer is underway and an
appointment is expected to be announced in the course of 2013.”
