Luxury cruise line Silversea has vowed to address issues highlighted in a Vessel Sanitation Program, after one of its ships failed inspection.
Silver Shadow received a score of 84 during the inspection in Skagway, but had previously scored in the high 90s in years gone by. A score below 86 is considered failing.
A spokeswoman for the line said: “Silversea is deeply disappointed by this specific and only unsatisfactory score and has taken immediate measures to address the issues identified in the inspection report.
“The company takes very seriously its responsibility to maintain the highest standards in all areas of its operations.
“Silversea has an excellent track record when it comes to santitation.”
Silver Spirit received full marks with 100 points when it was inspected in April.
The line apologised for the “shortcomings in Silver Shadow’s evaluation” and vowed to ensure the boat scores higher in future inspections.
