Enfield-based online travel agency Travel Click Holidays has ceased trading, a statement on the Civil Aviation Authority website has confirmed.
The company, which sold package holidays and flight-only trips, was an Abta member and held a Small Business Atol licence for up to 500 customers but operated ostensibly as an agent.
Concerns were raised about the firm on Wednesday last week but Travel Weekly was unable to contact anyone at the company and the website just carried a message saying ‘Website is currently being updated. We apologise for any inconvenience’.
At the time Abta was only able to confirm that Travel Click was a trading member and the CAA was not able to comment on rumours that it had gone out of business. On Friday a message appeared on the CAA website saying the company had ceased trading with immediate effect.
Travel Click described itself as a ’boutique style’ travel agency adding: “We like to believe our ethos is to provide our clients with a service that the big companies cannot give”.
However, a forum on holidaywatchdog.com which was started in June included a number of complaints from unhappy customers claiming to have bought Travel Click holidays via other deals sites like Secret Escapes.
