Nairobi airport reopens domestic terminal

Kenya Airways is to resume flights from Heathrow to Nairobi using the domestic terminal of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

A huge fire that broke out in Kenya’s main international airport this morning has now been contained. There have been no reports of casualties and the source of the fire is not yet clear.

Incoming flights today have been diverted to regional airports and to Mombasa.

Kenya Airways said its scheduled flight from Heathrow would depart tonight and arrive in Nairobi tomorrow morning. Passengers will pass through the domestic terminal.

Domestic flights from Nairobi to Mombasa were also set to resume.

The airline advised customers to arrive at the airport two hours ahead of departure.
