Cunard has been rated the top cruise line based on an online poll by consumers by cruise.co.uk.
The line’s three ships also made the top five most highly rated individual vessels.
Celebrity Cruises took second place in the overall cruise line rankings with Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean International, Norwegian Cruise Line, Fred Olsen, Thomson Cruises, P&O Cruises, Holland America Line and MSC Cruises making up the top 10.
In the category for the top 10 ships, Cunard’s Queen Victoria took the top slot followed by Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas, Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth, Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Eclipse, Cunard’s Queen Mary 2, and P&O Cruises’ Aurora, Oceana, Ventura, Oriana and Azura.
The study is based on more than 10,000 reviews received from passengers over the last 12 months with a minimum of 150 reviews required to score, to ensure the views are a true reflection of current passenger opinion.
Cunard’s winning score of 4.12 out of 5 was composed of ratings for food, entertainment, staff, accommodation and activities on board.
Cruise.co.uk managing director Seamus Conlon said: “The poll is a large-scale, independent assessment of how our online users rate their experiences aboard the many cruise ships sailing today.
“It takes an exceptional brand to top the poll – the competition is intense – and Cunard’s ships have done well to hit the high spot.”
Cunard president and managing director Peter Shanks said: “These excellent results show how hard everyone has been working on board and ashore, and how well they have all pulled together as a team to deliver legendary experiences for our passengers.”
