Cadogan to sue after power cut

CADOGAN Holidays is suing a building firm for almost £50,000 after claiming workmen sliced through cables and caused an electricity blackout.

Managing director Gary David said hundreds of booking were lost during three days of disruption. “We lost our phone and computer system,” said David. “In a normal day we will book 200 heads. But in three days last week we took three, seven and 12 bookings.”

Staff had to work until the early hours to process applications, he added.

Cadogan is now set to join forces with other retailers in Southampton who also suffered a blackout.

“We are claiming for loss of earnings, inconvenience and for the overtime we paid to staff,” said David.

He apologised to agents for any inconvenience caused due to the problems.
