Former Millennium Dome chief joins Spain’s La Manga Club resort

The former head of the Millennium Dome in London, Pierre-Yves Gerbeau, has joined the five-star La Manga Club resort in Spain as non-executive chairman.

He will work with the La Manga Club management team to oversee future strategy.

Gerbeau, who also worked at Disneyland Paris, created and developed entertainment firm X-Leisure. The company was acquired by real estate company Land Securities earlier this year.

He said: “I have a property in La Manga Club and I love the place, so it is an honour to have been invited to chair this legendary resort, and to help frame the vision and strategy to return it to its rightful place among Europe’s elite leisure resorts.”

A La Manga Club spokesman said: “We are delighted that PY Gerbeau has accepted this role. His experience within the leisure sector and his engaging profile will be invaluable and will assist us in positioning La Manga Club as one of the top European sports and destination resorts.”
