Antigua and Barbuda will be in the spotlight when the destination hosts the X Factor’s judges’ houses stage.
Singer Nicole Scherzinger, her guest judge Mary J Blige and the six finalists for the girls’ category jetted off to Antigua following the bootcamp stage to select the remaining three acts for the live shows. The group stayed at Saint James’s Club.
Visit Antigua and Barbuda said the islands have been a celebrity retreat for a long time with the likes of Eric Clapton and Giorgio Armani spotted holidaying there. Pierce Brosnan and Oprah Winfrey are also big Antigua fans according to the tourist board, while Princess Diana counted Barbuda as one of her favourite holiday spots.
According to reports, Gary Barlow will take his group to New York, Sharon Osbourne will be heading to Los Angeles, and Louis Walsh will go to the South of France. The programme is due to air on the first weekend of October.
Previous host destinations for the judges’ houses stage of the talent competition have included Dubai, St Lucia and Las Vegas.
