P&O and Cunard makes Med flights commissionable

Flights are to become commissionable on all fly-cruise Mediterranean sailings with Cunard and P&O Cruises.

Chris Truscott (pictured), sales and distribution support director for the cruise lines, told Travel Weekly all 2014 Mediterranean fly-cruises would offer commission on the flight element of the booking.

The decision comes following criticism from the trade that agents were not making any commission on the flight element of fly-cruise bookings.

Truscott said: “The fact that we are making the flight commissionable is a real step forward I believe. It is another real positive and this shows we are listening to agents and we don’t just listen to what they say – we act on it and we respond.”

“Mediterranean Fly-cruises will now be treated as a commissionable package and we think agents will be pleased to hear this.”

The change will be brought into effect from Monday, alongside P&O and Cunard’s new fare structure.
