Some of the world’s top acts will perform on Anthem of the Seas, revealed its UK managing director Stuart Leven.
He told Travel Weekly the ship would have two music-themed venues to tie in with the ship’s name – the 270 Club and a more “intimate” venue called the Music Hall which would have “a more Brixton Academy-type feel than the O2”.
He said research had shown that music was a key part of the British psyche.
“A survey showed that 9 out of 10 British people said music was really important to them and 75% of people were really inspired by a music anthem.”
He said Royal Caribbean would be embracing the anthem theme in its training of UK travel agents.
“It’s important to educate them about what’s on board,” said Leven.
Vice President president international Dominic Paul said he believed the ship would be the most innovative in the world, citing the North Star viewing attraction, sky-diving and dodgems as unique and compelling features for guests to come to try out.
Leven promised Royal Caribbean would really go to town on the launch of Anthem to the trade and the public.
“We love to show off and it will be a really impressive affair that travel agents will be really involved in. We want to get as many on board so they can see, touch and feel the ship,” he said.
