Thomas Cook Group chief executive Harriet Green has been named as one of the most powerful women in business.
She has been rated 23rd in the annual list of top business people complied by Fortune magazine
Green was recognized for her efforts in turning around Europe’s second largest tour operating group.
Fortune said: “Green is wowing once-skeptical investors. The company’s stock is up more than 200% for the year – and 811% since she started in July 2012.”
EasyJet chief executive Carolyn McCall was named in 30th position, recognised for reviving the low cost carrier with shares up 60% this year.
Green was ranked alongside the likes of Amazon founder and chief executive Jeff Bezos (6th), Google co-founder Larry Page (8th), Delta Air Lines chief executive Richard Anderson (11th) and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg (12th).
