Legoland Florida to gain hotel in 2015

Legoland Florida is looking to attract visitors wanting to stay for multiple days by opening a new a 152-room hotel.

Adrian Jones said the hotel would be built on a site to the left of the entrance to the theme park, close to Lake Eloise. It will open in 2015.

“The opening of a Legoland Hotel will transition Legoland Florida from a single-day visit theme park to a multi-day resort destination,” Jones said. “This will serve as a catalyst for future economic development in Polk County.”

The four-storey hotel will feature brightly coloured and themed rooms and suites, a Lego decor, interactive play areas, a pool and a restaurant.

The hotel will employ 250 people once open.

The hotel will be the fifth of its kind in the world alongside California, Windsor and Billund Hotels. The hotel in Malaysia is to open its doors soon.
