Greek carrier Aegean Airlines is to serve Athens from Birmingham next summer.
Seasonal flights will run twice a week from June 10 until October 25 on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Aegean will use a 168-seat Airbus A320 on the route in a two class configuration.
The new route is in addition to three daily flights from Heathrow to Athens along with seasonal flights from Manchester, Gatwick and Stansted to the Greek capital.
The UK expansion comes less than two months after Aegean acquired Olympic Air.
