Thomson Travel Group acting chief executive Roger Burnell should avoid dumping capacity for this summer if it wants to win favour with the City, according to analysts.
“Roger Burnell should now be saying that whatever Thomson does in the coming months, it should not go down that road,” said one analyst.
“His attitude should be: “If we have to fly with a few empty seats, then that is better in the long run.”
“Burnell should be thinking about how in the long term he can get City support. The only way to do that is to get into the City’s good books, and that will not happen overnight. It will take 12-18 months.”
