Thomas Cook is supporting newly-revamped bedbank Hotels4U with brand-building TV advertising kicking off in the new year.
The new adverts start on new year’s day and feature the adventures of fictional characters ‘Danny and Poppy’ and the tagline ‘Anything for You, Cupcake’.
The adverts feature a happily married couple Danny and Poppy, who are optimistic, enthusiastic and spend all their spare time together picking out hotels for their next holiday.
Danny’s bright green Hawaiian shirt and green glasses reflect the new brand colours, while Poppy – or ‘Cupcake’, as Danny calls her – reflects the creative heart of the campaign and the new tagline with her pink swirl hair and pink and red cherry dress.
The adverts will run across terrestrial and satellite channels throughout January and beyond.
Thomas Cook UK and Ireland sales, marketing and e-commerce director Mike Hoban said: “We wanted our new Hotels4U TV spots to create standout for the rebrand by bringing it to life through colourful characters and the tagline: ‘Anything for You, Cupcake’.
“The ultimate aim is to forge a strong identity that people will instantly recognise and identify with the brand. Poppy and Danny have been conceived to embody the ‘new’ Hotels4U, and we hope that these memorably fun characters will be household names in the new year – along with the ‘Anything For You, cupcake’ slogan.”
He added: “There are many players in the online market, and up until now, Hotels4U has remained relatively unknown – which is something we are looking to change with this TV campaign.”
