Study reveals 2013’s most popular destinations

A “definite trend” towards long-haul destinations emerged last year, according to Skyscanner.

While Spain maintained its position as the most popular country for British holidaymakers, five of the top 10 destinations were outside Europe.

The US took second place with India, Thailand and Australia taking the 5th, 6th and 7th positions respectively.

China made the top ten for the first time in 9th position.
