P&O Cruises and Cunard today claimed a record wave campaign, beating all previous years less than a month into a nine-week promotion.
P&O Cruises is currently 52% ahead of last year’s then record-breaking performance and its previous best ever wave campaign.
Cunard is also showing a record surge with bookings up by 54% compared to the same peak season booking period last year, and 7% up on its previous best-ever wave campaign in 2008.
P&O Cruises and Cunard saw an increase in bookings this weekend ahead of price rises on selected cruises and grades across the Cunard Fare, P&O Cruises Select Price Fare and P&O Cruises and Cunard Early Saver fare types.
The lead-in rate for inside cabins and balcony cabins on P&O Cruises Select Price fare and the Cunard Fare will remain unchanged. Other exclusions include the summer fly-Med programme on P&O Cruises’ Ventura.
Sales and distribution support director Chris Truscott said: “This has been our strongest ever wave campaign and we haven’t even finished yet. It’s an incredible achievement and, quite simply, we could not have achieved this without the support of our agent and trade partners.
“We’ve made numerous changes as a result of agent feedback. Everything from pricing, commission, commission on packaged flights, brochure development and itineraries – and these figures are testament of our ever-growing relationship with the trade.”
Consumers could buy cruises at special promotional fares until midnight on Sunday (January 19).
Truscott added: “The price increases are great news for agents with the opportunity to earn more commission.”
