Travel Counsellors has announced its expansion into Belgium this month.
The homeworking agency currently operates in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, South Africa, Australia, Canada and Dubai with more than 1,300 agents.
The new operation in Belgium will be headed by Netherlands general manager Fred van Eijk and will be supported by the head office in The Hague.
Steve Byrne, Travel Counsellors managing director, said: “We are delighted to launch Travel Counsellors in Belgium.
“Last year was an incredible year for the company with our best ever sales and highest number of recruits in our 20-year history. As the company continues to grow, we felt this was the right time for further expansion and Belgium was the natural choice owing to our successful operations in The Netherlands.
“The industry in The Netherlands has been incredibly receptive to our unique business model and Travel Counsellors has really made a presence in the market, receiving national recognition for our customer service. We hope to emulate our current success in the Netherlands and are excited to bring a new concept of selling travel to the Belgian market.”
Three agents have already been recruited in Belgium and Byrne hopes to have another 20 by the end of the year.
He added: “The business in the Netherlands is already over 20% up in 2014 and we want to bring all our expertise to Belgium so the best agents there can build lasting relationships with their customers and achieve similar success.”
