Cunard will celebrate the 175th anniversary of the departure of its first ship in 2015 with a host of special cruises and events.

Celebrations will start in Southampton on May 3, 2015 before the first meeting of the line’s three ships in Liverpool on May 25, 2015. Cunard flagship Queen Mary 2 will also sail from Liverpool on July 4, 2015.

Sales and distribution support director Chris Truscott said: “This is about increasing our support and service to agents when they need it most.

“It’s all part of our Agent Matters initiative and agents have told us that they really value the support from our travel agent support centre based in Southampton.

“We said we would continually develop the support for our agent partners and by extending our UK based call centre opening hours at this crucially busy time, we’re doing just that.” Further details on the cruises and celebrations planned will be released shortly.
