Clia announces speakers for Selling Cruise Conference

Clia UK and Ireland has announced Carnival UK’s Gerard Tempest (pictured) and Norwegian Cruise Line’s Andy Stuart as the keynote speakers for its Selling Cruise Conference.


Tempest, chief commercial officer, and Stuart, executive vice president of sales and marketing, will take to the stage in Southampton on May 22 and 23 for the conference, supported by Travel Weekly.


Daniel Radnor, owner of LoveItBookIt.com, who was recently named Young Travel Agent of the Year at the Clia awards, will also talk about his experiences in the industry.


Radnor is just 20 years old, but has already created his own agency based on his love of the cruise sector.


The theme of this year’s conference in Make It Happen. The two-day event will include a trade fair – giving agents the chance to meet with representatives from the cruise industry – conference sessions and a sail away party.


On the second day agents will have the chance to get on board ships with Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria, Royal Caribbean International’s Adventure of the Seas, and Princess Cruises’ Ruby Princess available for visits.


There is an optional third day of ship visits with MSC Cruises’ MSC Opera and Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Eclipse in Southampton.


Andy Harmer, Clia UK and Ireland director, said: “We are delighted that Gerard, Andy and Daniel will be joining us at this year’s conference. They will each bring their own unique perspective on the cruise industry with their presentations being of particular interest to customer-facing agents.”
