French actress Catherine Deneuve is to christen the latest Uniworld river cruise vessel in Lyon next week.

The naming of SS Catherine takes place on March 27 ahead of the vessel starting sailings on an eight-day Burgundy and Provence itinerary on the Rhône and Saône rivers.

The 159-capacity boat will have 79 cabins, five suites and a royal suite. Accommodation on the top deck offers full open-air private balconies, which convert to enclosed conservatories, while cabins on the middle deck feature French balconies.

Uniworld president Guy Young said: “We are so excited to have Ms. Deneuve as the godmother to our new ‘Super Ship’ S.S. Catherine.

“She exemplifies everything our new ‘Super Ship’ represents: classic sophistication, beauty, elegance, and grace.”

Cruise prices through Titan Travel start at £2,149 per person including flights, full board accommodation, transfers, unlimited beverages on board, all gratuities, excursions, English-speaking local guides, internet access and Wi-Fi on board and Titan’s home departure service.
