Budget brand Tune Hotels is expanding its UK portfolio to the north of England for the first time with a property in Newcastle.
The 104-room hotel will be located in a historic Edwardian building called Proctor House in the city’s Quayside area and is due to open in October.
The company is also opening the 130-room Tune Hotel Canary Wharf in London in November.
Tune Hotel Newcastle will be the fifth property in England and the sixth in the UK.
Tune Hotel Westminster, King’s Cross, Paddington and Liverpool Street are located in London, while Tune Hotel Haymarket, the first Scottish Tune property, is in Edinburgh.
The 40-strong Tune Hotels chain is part of the lifestyle business conglomerate Tune Group that was founded by AirAsia boss Tony Fernandes and partner Kamarudin Meranun.
