Cheval Blanc’s third hotel will truly become part of the group in October after the brand finishes the “re-imagining” of Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France.
LVMH bought the 40 room hotel in July last year and has been managing the hotel ever since. But this summer enhancements are taking place (with more to come in 2015) before reopening for the new season on October 15.
New highlights include the Cheval Blanc Spa which will be a four-treatment room offering signature treatments by Guerlain – the first of their kind in the Caribbean – created exclusively for Cheval Blanc Saint-Barth.
Signature therapies will include Saint-Barth Solar Escape, a ritual subtly combining the Terracotta range with Guerlain’s specialist know-how, to offer a skin soother that will enhance its healthy glow. A new Orchidée double treatment room and other new additions will follow in the 2015-2016 season.
Cheval Blanc is also introducing a fitness centre, offering personal training sessions and the latest Technogym equipment, overlooking Flamands Bay. The open plan layout will be bright and light in design, with a palette of white and taupes as well as bespoke furniture dotted throughout.
The group is also creating tailor-made experiences for guests including Big Blue Escape during which guests explore secluded bays on board a 69’ yacht, have a lobster lunch and get a Guerlain spa treatment on board.
Other new touches include Tropical Chic, a signature fragrance for the Maison, “composed” by Thierry Wasser, the nose at Guerlain, new Cheval Blanc amenities, and new uniforms for the Ambassadeurs.
The hotel or ‘Maison’ as Cheval Blanc like to call them has also partnered with French hair pioneer Leonor Greyl to develop a nourishing product line that protects hair from exposure to sun and sea.
And the new colour palette combines “Cheval Blanc’s signature taupe with a daring blush pink.”
Cheval Blanc is the luxury hospitality brand developed by LVMH Hotel Management. The group began with the 36-room, Cheval Blanc Courchevel and the second property Cheval Blanc Randheli opened in the Maldives in mid-November last year. Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France is the third.
Other confirmed projects include la Samaritaine in Paris and Oman.
