Four new Holiday Inns to open in UK

Four new Holiday Inn hotels are to open in the UK, including a property to serve Heathrow Terminal 5.

The converted 119-room Heathrow hotel – located to the west of the M25 motorway – will operate from this summer under a franchise agreement with existing owner Arora Hotels.

The first to open will be a 95-room Holiday Inn in Cardiff, three miles from the city centre.

The 225-room Holiday Inn London – West is due to open in August half-way between Heathrow and central London.

The Holiday Inn Birmingham North – Cannock is due to open early next year with 95 rooms, close to the M6 motorway.

Philip Lassman, UK and Ireland development director for parent company InterContinental Hotels, said: “Holiday Inn is one of the most iconic hotel brands in the world and its commitment to innovation makes it as relevant today as when it was founded more than 60 years ago.”

Surinder Arora, owner of Arora Hotels, said: “We’re thrilled to be expanding our portfolio with IHG after signing InterContinental London – The O2 last year. This Holiday Inn hotel is the perfect place for those travelling with families or for airline crew and business travellers needing to stay nearby to the airport.”
