Global Gathering: Globe Travel Awards 2015

Who will win a coveted Travel Weekly Globe Award in 2015?

The glittering awards night, the celebrity guests, the flowing wine and the heaving dance floor – yes, the Globe Travel Awards are back.

But that ceremony is where the process ends. It begins, most importantly, with you. A Travel Weekly Globe is the most coveted accolade in the travel industry, and by nominating and voting for the winners, you have the power to decide who gets to take one of those golden statuettes home at the end of the night.

Nominate

The Globes are voted for by you, the travel agent community, so this is your chance to tell the world which players have shone the best and brightest this year. It’s the clearest possible signal you can send to a trade-friendly travel business that you appreciate their support.

Travel Weekly Group managing director Stuart Parish says: “My first job in the travel industry was at Holiday Autos, and a Globe was the one award that we coveted above any other.

“To be nominated is a fantastic acknowledgement, while to win is the ultimate recognition of a trade-friendly supplier’s efforts throughout the year from the very agents on which their businesses rely. Having formerly been a supplier myself, I assure you that your nominations and your votes really do matter, so make them count and nominate now.”

The nomination process is open, so visit globetravelawards.co.uk and tell us who has stood head and shoulders above the pack this year in key sectors from cruising and aviation to theme parks and tour operating.

You can make nominations in some or all categories, based on your opinions and personal experiences. Maybe a truly exceptional product has blown your socks off, you’ve been impressed by comprehensive training and sales support, or you’ve appreciated the benefits of a generous commission structure.

Whatever factors into your decision, there’s one thing you can be sure of: every vote counts.

The ceremony

James Corden, Michael McIntyre, Jack Whitehall, Jimmy Carr, Alan Carr. This list isn’t of guests on a prime-time TV panel show, but of the comedians who have hosted the Globe Travel Awards over the past five years.

Superstar hosts are just part of the travel industry’s biggest party of the year. Last year the RPJ Band had the crowd up and dancing into the wee small hours, and sophisticated string quartet Escala wowed the crowd with a flawless performance.

That’s on top of a drinks reception and a three-course dinner, all held in London’s Grosvenor House Hotel. The 2015 ceremony will take place on January 15, and the Travel Weekly events team is already hard at work behind the scenes making sure this event will exceed all expectations – a pretty difficult task following last year’s rave reviews.

Plans for the evening and the identity of our celebrity guests will be kept under wraps until the night itself, but we can reveal one piece of good news. We’ve frozen ticket prices at last year’s levels, so it’s even better value.

Book your place

The line about ‘tickets selling faster than ever before’ sounds like a marketing cliché, but we’ve never seen demand like it – ticket sales are flying.

Perhaps it’s little wonder after last year’s incredible night, where guests chuckled at James Corden and danced the night away to the RPJ Band.

From the glitzy drinks reception to the thrill of discovering who has picked up a coveted award, it’s a night of high excitement – no wonder it’s renowned as the premier event in the travel industry calendar.

But even in a venue as vast as the Great Room at the Grosvenor House Hotel – the only central London ballroom big enough to accommodate all of travel’s great and good – spots are limited. So don’t miss out – book now.

We’ve frozen prices at 2014 levels, so value for money – something we in the travel industry all understand the importance of – is better than ever. Tables of 10 cost £2,990, with individual tickets at £299.

If you get your skates on and book by September 18, you can take advantage of our reduced early-bird rate of £2,840 per table, and £284 per person. Tickets include entry to the drinks reception, a three-course meal and half a bottle of wine per person.
