Lufthansa’s Munich hub has been targeted by pilots for the latest stage of strike action.
The Vereinigung Cockpit union plans to stage a walkout between 10am and 6pm tomorrow (Wednesday).
“Lufthansa flight operations will be heavily affected by the strike, especially flights departing from and arriving in Munich,” the airline warned.
The carrier hopes to be able to run all scheduled flights from its main hub at Frankfurt – the airport targeted for industrial action by the pilots’ union last week.
Lufthansa is working on a special flight schedule during the strike period. Details are due to appear on the airline’s website today.
“Lufthansa regrets any inconvenience to passengers caused by the threatened strike measures by the pilots’ union VC and will do its utmost to minimise impacts on passengers. Passenger support and service has paramount priority,” the airline said.
Flights operated by Lufthansa Group airlines Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Germanwings and Swiss as well as Air Dolomiti will operate as scheduled.
