Advantage Travel Partnership is asking its preferred suppliers to show their commitment to working with members by signing up to a new charter that will in turn boost their visibility with agents.
The consortium is introducing the Advantage Partnership Charter as it looks to change the way members and suppliers work together.
John Sullivan, head of commercial, said the charter was an evolution of the process to award preferred partners with a commended or highly commended status, which was introduced at the beginning of the year.
He said partners that adopt the Advantage Partnership Charter will be made more visible to members on and offline, and they would see “the levels of support provided and the service pledged”.
The charter process is already under way, and Sullivan said it had been well-received by suppliers wanting to get involved. He said he expected the charter list to be complete within the next month and it would then be distributed to members.
Suppliers will have to meet certain criteria to be able to sign the charter, including providing a freephone number and dedicated member support, as well as not taking a direct booking when a member has already provided a quote. Advantage is also asking those who sign up to the charter to refrain from using any captured client data in their own direct marketing activities.
Sullivan added: “Our Partnership Charter forms the basis for a great ‘win-win’ working relationship for our members and preferred leisure partners.
“It is important there is transparency in the way we all work together, to help members run their businesses more profitably and to assist leisure partners in the smooth running of the relationship.”
