Irish chain acquires two hotels

Irish chain Dalata Hotel Group is expanding with the €31.7 million takeover of four-star hotels in Galway and Wexford.

Both the 195-room Clayton Hotel, Galway and 157-room Whites Hotel, Wexford have been operated by Dalata since 2009 under management contracts.

Last year’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, amortisation, rent and management fees for the hotels was €2.5 million.

Dalata chief executive, Pat McCann, said “We are delighted to have secured Whites Hotel, Wexford and the Clayton Hotel, Galway, two outstanding modern hotel properties with excellent conference facilities.

“We look forward to continuing our work with the management and staff at both properties to realise the full potential of both hotels in the years ahead.

“These acquisitions are part of our strategy to assemble a portfolio of high quality hotel assets in Ireland.”
