EasyJet is increasing air links between the UK and Holland with 154 flights each way a week from next spring.
The budget carrier is opening a new base in Amsterdam with 108 flights each way to London every week.
This equates to around 15 flights a day, with the introduction of an additional daily flight between Amsterdam and Gatwick. There will also be two extra frequencies a week to and from Bristol.
The creation of an Amsterdam base also allows easyJet to provide a new daily early morning departure to Geneva, in addition to the existing early slot to Gatwick.
EasyJet’s total capacity in Amsterdam will grow to 4.7 million seats a year. The airline claims to carry more than one million business passengers to and from Amsterdam each year.
Amsterdam Schiphol will become home to three Airbus A320s, increasing the capacity on routes that are now served by A319s.
The first two aircraft to be stationed in Holland will land at the end of March and a third in May.
New routes will be opened to Dubrovnik, Nice, Olbia, Toulouse, Venice and Hamburg.
Other UK airports connected to Amsterdam include Luton, Stansted, Southend, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Belfast Glasgow and Manchester.
Commercial manager for the Netherlands, William Vet, said: “EasyJet will bring a balanced and mature offering to the Netherlands. This will grow in line with our passenger needs.
“Basing three aircraft in the Netherlands will bring more choice for Dutch passengers and lower fares. It will also help boost local tourism and economic growth with the creation of hundreds of jobs and increased passenger numbers.”
