Club Travel 2000 adds Stansted to network

Club Travel 2000 will extend its UK departure network to 14 airports with the addition of flights to Tenerife and Malaga from Stansted next May.

The Manchester-based seat consolidator has contracted Sabre Airways to handle a summer programme from the Essex airport. Prices have yet to be confirmed but sales and marketing director Ian Scott said:”We will be as ruthlessly competitive at Stansted as we are on all our routes.”

He confirmed Club Travel 2000 is negotiating with other UKairports after the CAAgranted the company an 80% year-on-year increase in licensed capacity, from 70,000 passengers last year to 126,000 passengers.

The addition of Stansted follows the inclusion of Tenerife departures from Belfast and Humberside this summer and the announcement that Faro is to be the first non-Spanish destination to be featured by the operator.

Launching from Manchester next summer, Faro has been introduced following requests from the operator’s agency clients and is a natural progression given its popularity in the seat-only market.

Fares start at £169 for seven and 14 nights on selected dates in May and June 2000.

Faro features in Club Travel 2000’s recently launched Low Cost Flights brochure, which covers a 12-month programme from July 1999 to July 2000.
