AIRTOURS is examining the Aspro name and may decide to drop it altogether by the end of the year.
The operator said it was looking at ‘recasting’ the budget Aspro brand after it failed to appeal as a national product.
Deputy managing director Richard Carrick said:”It is still very strong in the southwest, south Wales and Ireland but we have to look at whether it’s worth marketing it as a national brand.”
Carrick has previously criticised the Aspro name and once said it “sounds like something you take for a headache.”
n Increased passenger volumes generated by acquisitions has led Airtours International to lease two further A321 aircraft for next summer. See page 4 for Special Report
