THE first of six new sales development managers has been appointed by Advantage with a brief to build membership and boost sales.
Heidi Parkinson will work with agents in the northwest and joins an existing three-strong, on-the-road sales force. Five more will be appointed shortly.
Although the team will be Advantage staff, Airtours has played a major role in therecruitment.
Parkinson formerly worked with franchise development director Andrew Williams during his days at Sunworld and Inspirations.
“The sales team will there to assist members, not to dictate to them,” stressed Williams. “We have been involved in the recruitment of the team as we are a major part of this alliance.
“Part of their role will be to recruit members but first we need to prove that this alliance works.”
Airtours is targeting 1,000 franchise members by 2002.
Williams said he was delighted with the response from franchise agents during last week’s conference.
“They are committed to the franchise and are supportive of all that we are trying to do. I think most independents realise they need an alliance partner to protect access to product. Airtours is a willing and committed partner.”
