ARTAC urges members to boycott NatWest over travel policy

ARTAC Worldchoice is calling on members to boycott NatWest, claiming the bank is running a travel service encouraging customers to take brochures from their high-street agency.

ARTAC member Bob Hatt, a NatWest customer, has threatened to close his account and is urging other agents to follow. Hatt, director of Lloyd Brothers Travel Worldchoice in Oswestry said:”To push clients in the direction of a competitor for a brochure is immoral.”

General manager Chris Fife said: “Any of our members with NatWest can take their custom to a rival bank.”

Angie Holliday of Guildford-based Convention Travel, which operates NatWest Travel Service, said: “You can’t stop people picking up a brochure from a rival agent or make them book where you want.”
