Thomas Cook axes Sunworld Sailing name

THOMAS Cook has axed the Sunworld Sailing name and created an activity holidays brochure under the Neilson banner.

The move has heightened speculation that the core Sunworld name will also be dropped later in the summer.

A branding announcement is expected in September.

Sunworld Sailing managing director Pete Tyler said the name was limiting growth of other activities featured in the brochure.

“The product includes diving and cycling but from the name you just wouldn’t know that,” said Tyler. “The sailing tag was too limiting and some of our holidays were buried within the brochure. Neilson is already known by agents for skiing and it seemed a logical move to extend the name to cover other activities.”

A dedicated brochure has been produced for activities with the ski brochure following later in the year.
