Activity holidays available through the trade

PGL: specialises in holidays for children without their parents. Operator is primarily direct sell but will pay commission to agents. Caters for 6-18-year-olds in 16 centres around UK. One week multi-activity holiday costs on average £219 per week. Includes abseiling, archery, quad biking, assault courses, or participants can opt for specific sport such as canoeing, horseriding or sailing.


Jetset Freedom Breaks: features cycling, walking, ballooning, hang-gliding, clay pigeon shooting and fly fishing. Sample lead price for clay pigeon shooting and fly fishing breaks in Scotland is £78.50 per person with tuition, equipment hire and light refreshments. Accommodation is at the Fenwick Hotel in Ayrshire from £34 per person per night.


Acorn Activities: offers walking, cycling, horseriding, shooting, fishing and multi-activity breaks. A typical ‘hen’ or ‘stag’ package involves a Friday evening arrival with activities arranged for Saturday and Sunday. Prices start at £18 per person for the first night’s bed and breakfast. A group booking for 25 people is around £2,500.


Wightlink Holidays: Gourmet Cycling Breaks start from £233 per person for a two-night midweek break between October and April. Includes return foot passenger ferry crossing, two nights’ half-board accommodation, bike and helmet hire and luggage transfer between hotels. Car crossings, bike extras and additional hotel nights can be arranged on a tailor-made basis.
