Travel Counsellors claims 50% rise in new agents following roadshows

Travel Counsellors is claiming a 50% rise in new agents joining the company in the last three months.

The increase comes as the company reports an 11% hike in average earnings for its Travel Counsellors over last year.

The rise in new recruits follows the company’s ‘TC Roadshow’ events, where its careers team and key management visited cities nationwide to meet people interested in finding out more about the company and running their own travel business.

The events offered confidential one-to-one sessions and the chance to speak directly to existing agents to hear first-hand about life as a Travel Counsellor.

The company recruited more than 45% of attendees from the last two months of events.

Agents from outside the company will also be invited to attend its annual conference in Manchester next month.

Interested recruits will be invited to business sessions and a ‘discovery session’ where agents outside of the company can speak to current Travel Counsellors and the management team.

Managing director, Steve Byrne, said: “We’ve had a really positive response from our ‘TC Roadshow’ – we’ve actually had to add dates across the country to meet the demand.

“We recognise that this is a life-changing decision for people, which is why we have tried to make the joining process as accessible as possible, and as our figures show, this personal approach is working well.

“We offer agents the opportunity to improve their work-life balance, through running their own business with the full support from our head office team.

“They also have the chance to significantly increase their earning potential using our in-house dynamic packaging system Phenix, which enables them to tailor-make holidays for their customers, offering exclusive products at competitive rates.

“Enabling our agents to be fully in control of their margin has directly contributed to the boost in our agents’ earnings.”
