Tim Williamson to leave Monarch for Responsible Travel

Tim Williamson is to quit Monarch Airlines to join Responsible Travel.


Williamson has been director of customer experience and marketing at Monarch Airlines since July 2013.


He starts at Responsible Travel in the newly-created role of content and marketing director on December 1. He has been a non-executive director on the board of Responsible Travel for the last 18 months.


Responsible Travel managing director and co-founder Justin Francis said: “Tim’s appointment and expansion of our management team comes at an exciting time for the business and the wider responsible tourism agenda. Authentic travel is one of the biggest trends in travel.


“Tim’s extensive experience will ensure we are best positioned to accelerate business growth and demonstrate how responsible travel is the future of global tourism.”


Williamson, who previously worked as chief executive of The Travel Department in Ireland, customer director at Tui UK and an Abta board member, chairing the sustainable committee and the Travellife board and steering committee, said: “Authentic, responsible travel is no longer a niche option and I’m looking forward to increasing its profile via this dynamic digital business. My role is to help further this expansion, delivering both profits and principles.”
