BAH puts educational options up for grabs

BRITISH Airways Holidays has put another 1,200 educational places up for grabs in the autumn edition of its Breakaway programme.

The educational programme, which is only available to agents, goes on sale tomorrow for travel between September and December.

The educational places are available in 65 countries worldwide and many of the trips are unescorted. Prices start at £55 for one night in Paris at a four-star hotel. Long-haul prices start at £159 for three nights in Toronto.

Regional flying, previously only available from Heathrow and Gatwick, has been expanded to Birmingham and Manchester.

Trade and partnership marketing manager Andrena Pullen said: “The trips have been designed to combine a holiday experience with educational bonuses such as free city tours, a hosted meal or some site inspections.”

The operator has set up a dedicated hotline for reservations, brochure requests and customer care after agents complained they were unable to get through on the usual numbers.

“When we first launched the programme, agents had to write to request a brochure,” said Pullen. “We then opened up the phone lines which became clogged and agents were none too pleased.”

The new hotline number is 0870 6082268.
