n autonation inc appoints new president



Car-rental firm Autonation Inc has appointed Dennis Custage as international president and chief operating officer for the rental division. He will have profit and loss, operations and development responsibilities for NationalCar Rental and Alamo Rent-A-Car outside the US and Canada and will focus on Europe, the Middle East and Africa from the company’s base in the UK.



n eurostar cuts cost of weekday fares



Eurostar is cutting the price of weekday return fares toBrussels, Paris and Disneyland Paris to £49 with prices for the same fares to Lille and Calais-Frethun starting at £39. Both fares are available on selected trains between Monday and Friday. The fares will be valid between July 15 andSeptember 3. The operator is also offering two customers the chance to travel for £118 return to Brussels, Paris, Lille, Calais-Frethun, Disneyland Paris and Antwerp, Bruges, Ghent, Liege and Namur until August 27 which must include a Saturday night or two nights away.



n Airlinks upgrades web site to meet demand



Airlinks has upgraded its Web site to allow customers to make bookings on-line after seeing interest in its Internet site soar. The airport coach company said visits to its site in April were up by more than 450% year-on-year to 175,641 hits. The Web site can be found at www.airlinks.co.uk
