Damage worth more than $A100 million has been caused in the worst storm to hit the Australian city of Brisbane in almost 30 years.
The storm produced hailstones the size of golf balls, causing widespread damage, the BBC reported.
Up to 90,000 homes were without power as winds gusting at 85mph brought down trees and power lines across southeast Queensland.
Commuters were stranded after rail services were suspended across Brisbane and at least 12 people were reported injured.
The storm swept in on Thursday afternoon, leaving many commuters trapped for hours in stalled electric trains.
The force of the storm ripped roofing from homes and businesses, and tipped over light aircraft at Brisbane’s Archerfield airport.
Queensland’s emergency services said they had received about 700 requests for assistance.
