STANSTED SERVICE LAUNCH FROM AURIGNY


Channel Island airline Aurigny has launched a service between Stansted and Guernsey. A 33-seater Saab 340 aircraft will operate three return flights on weekdays and two on weekends. Single fares start from £65.50 rising to £120 for business class, including rail travel between Stansted and Liverpool Street.


TOP ATTRACTIONS JOCKEY FOR AWARD


The Museum of London, the London Aquarium and the National Portrait Gallery have been shortlisted for the title of Large Attraction of the Year in the London Tourism Awards 1999. Winners for this and other categories such as Independent Hotel of the Year will be announced on July 8.


COUNTRYWIDE BRINGS DRACULA TO WHITBY


A Vampire Encounter in Whitby, home of Dracula,is being offered by Countrywide Holidays. The operator, which was taken over by Shearings this year, is featuring the two-night murder mystery weekend for £119 per person for an October 1-3 break.


DERBYSHIRE MARKS SUCCESS OF AUTHOR


A new tourist attraction celebrating the classic children’s story Wind in the Willows has opened in Derbyshire’s Peak District. The attraction, which aims to brings to life Kenneth Grahame’s books, is part of the Peak Village Factory Outlet Shopping and Leisure Centre which opened in April.
