Tipto hosts 10th afternoon tea as it marks silver anniversary

Tipto hosted 70 suppliers and travel agents at its 10th annual afternoon tea.

This year’s event, which marked the trade marketing body’s Silver Anniversary Year, included all 25 member suppliers and a range of senior agents from across the industry.

The organisation invited a larger number this year to mark the occasion, with all attendees receiving an engraved 25th anniversary silver pen at the tea at the OXO Tower on London’s South Bank.

Chairman Richard Forde thanked agents for their support of Tipto’s members and events. “Tipto is about partnership so thanks for taking the time out to be here,” he said.

At the event, Leger Holidays was recognised for being Tipto’s longest serving current member. The operator has been with Tipto for 15 years in total after rejoining as part of The Leger Shearings Group in 2022. Head of retail sales Ashley Dellow received a Tipto branded T-shirt and a bottle of whisky.

Travel Weekly chief reporter Juliet Dennis (pictured below) also received special recognition for being the only attendee, apart from Tipto’s Lorna Willis, to attend all 10 afternoon teas. She received a £100 afternoon tea voucher with Brigit’s Bakery.

The organisation is holding a special 25th anniversary chairman’s and founders lunch in July to which former chairs will be invited.

Tipto recently announced details of its forthcoming trade roadshows around the country.
