Budget chain easyHotel is continuing to “actively pursue” potential UK sites for future hotel opportunities, the company said today.
The owner, developer, operator and franchisor of “super budget” branded hotels was giving a trading update for the first four months of its financial year ending September 30, 2015 at its annual general meeting.
“Trading for the financial year to date is in line with management’s expectations in both its owned and franchised hotels notwithstanding that December and January are traditionally quieter trading months for most of its hotels,” the company said.
A 103-room owned hotel in Croydon which opened in November was profitable in its first full month of trading, “demonstrating the robustness of the business model”.
The group’s 132-room franchised hotel in the centre of Frankfurt opened earlier in January and is seeing “healthy demand” in its first month.
EasyHotel has three owned hotels comprising 390 rooms, and a further 18 franchised properties with around 1,450 rooms.
